Province of Brescia

The Province of Brescia, located in north Italy and central Po River Plain, is the largest province in Lombardy Region. It covers an area of 4,784 km², accounting for one fifth of the total area of the region. The province consists of 45% of mountainous area, 25% of hills, and 30% of plains. Mount Adamello, the highest in the province, is 3,359 meters high. The temperature difference here is large, with 36.1℃ at the highest and -9℃ at the lowest. The Province of Brescia boasts the famous four valleys and three lakes. The four valleys include Camonica Valley, Sabbia Valley, and Trompia Valley. The Camonica Valley is also a famous skiing resort in the province. The three famous lakes are Lake Garda, Lake Iseo, and Lake Idro. Lake Garda is the largest inland lake in Italy covering an area of 370 km² with a depth of 346 meters. The Province of Brescia has a population of 1,070,000 and has jurisdiction over 206 towns and cities. Brescia City, the capital of the province, has a population of 200,000 and is the second largest city in Lombardy following Milan. Shenzhen has established a bond of sister cities with the Province of Brescia on 12 November 1991.
