Before 1976, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government was a District Council. In 1980s, 23 local government areas were organized and Ajeromi was lucky to be one of them. In spite of all the changes Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government has undergone, it has always remained as a stable local government area economically, socially and politically. Ajeromi-Ifelodun area could be regarded as a “Mini-Nigeria” because many of the main tribes of Nigeria reside there. Despite the diversity, great achievements have been made by the local government area through dedication of people, dialogues and open door policy.
