The Kiribati Local Government Association, KiLGA for short, is called Aia Rabwata Kauntira in Kiribati. KiLGA was founded in March 2012 by a resolution of the general meeting of its members. The members are 23 mayors representing their councils in Kiribati. It was registered as an Incorporated Society No.07/12 on 31 March 2012. After being officially registered, KiLGA has been recognized by government as a NGO responsible for providing support to councils and assisting with good governance in Kiribati.
