Quzhou

Quzhou, a prefecture-level city of Zhejiang Province, is situated in the west of the province and along the upper reaches of Qiantang River (location:118°01′ - 119°20′ (E) and 28°14′ - 29°30′ (N)). Covering an area of 8,844.79 km², this southern city borders Nanping (Fujian Province) in its south, Shangrao and Jingdezhen (Jiangxi Province) in the west, Huangshan (Anhui Province) in the north, and has its provincial neighbors Jinhua, Lishui and Hangzhou in the east. Quzhou has Kecheng District, Qujiang District, Jiangshan City, Longyou County, Changshan County and Kaihua County, with a registered population of 2.5781 million (by 2017). Quzhou is rich in tourism resources, known for its wonderful landscape and a famous city. There are more than 150 scenic spots, say, Jianglang Mountain, Lanke Mountain and Longyou Grottoes. In 1994, it was designated by the State Council as a famous Chinese Historical and Cultural City, and selected as one of the China top ten livable cities in 2012 and 2013. In 2013, it was among the first China Model Cities of Circular Economy. November 2016 saw Quzhou honored China Top Ten Cities of Ecological and Leisure Tourism. In 2017, it ranked 49th in Top 100 Cities in terms of China's Overall Well-off Index amid prefecture-level compeers and in December, it was included in Top 200 Charming Cities with Chinese characteristics.
