Mongolia "Belt and Road" Co-Development Research Center

The Mongolia "Belt and Road" Co-Development Research Center was established in July 2022. It is an institution dedicated to the study, analysis and collaboration specifically focused on the Belt and Road Initiative, hence concentrating on relevant issues within this initiative. As Mongolia's foremost leading think tank in this field, it has assembled experts and scholars from diverse fields within Mongolia. The mission of research center is to foster a better understanding of the economic, social, cultural, and geopolitical aspects of the Belt and Road Initiative, to provide expert insights, strategic guidance, and strategic planning for Mongolia's stakeholders and decision-makers involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The goal of the center is to facilitate the successful implementation of any project within the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly the successful execution of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. Over the past year, we have maintained collaborations with Mongolian government institutions, academia and various international organizations. This collaborative network is aimed at promoting knowledge sharing, academic exchanges, and policy dialogues. Due to limited insight into Chinese culture among Mongolians, the research center plans to focus on enhancing mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and grassroots cooperation between the peoples of Mongolia and China under the Belt and Road Initiative in the future. Currently, within the country, besides closely collaborating with entities such as the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and the Ulaanbaatar China Cultural Center, the institution maintains academic cooperation with the International Relations Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. We have been publishing academic papers related to Chinese government policies and the Belt and Road Initiative in the journal 'International Relations,' issued by the Institute, in a continuous manner. Internationally, the institution maintain collaborative relationships with institutions such as the Institute of Contemporary China Studies and the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Additionally, ISD Ruby Publishing LLC, co-founded by the founder of our research center, Chuluun-Erdene, has been translating and publishing books related to the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as Chinese politics, economics, and societal aspects into Mongolian since 2019. Think tanks are crucial intellectual support and thought leadership institutions within the Belt and Road Initiative. Therefore, the center aims to actively influence the country's efforts in successfully implementing and sustainably developing the Belt and Road Initiative through research contributions. The Mongolia Belt and Road Co-Development Research Center was recently established. Consequently, we are actively seeking collaborations and partnerships with Chinese think tanks, academic institutions, government bodies, as well as relevant associations and alliances." By establishing networks of experts and practitioners, our aim is to create a dynamic platform that fosters knowledge exchange, joint research projects, and policy dialogues. We firmly believe that cooperation is key to unlocking the full potential of the Belt and Road Initiative.
