Guidizzolo is a municipality located in the province of Mantua, Italy. Nestled at the foot of the glacial moraine of Lake Garda, it covers a total area of 22 square kilometers and has a population of 6,140 people with a population density of 279.1 individuals per square kilometer (as of 2009). It is located about 110 kilometers east of Milan and about 25 kilometers northwest of Mantua. The bordering municipalities of Guidizzolo are Cavriana, Ceresara, Goito, Medole and Solferino. The most ancient edifice is the Oratory of St. Lawrence, a small Romanesque devotional building dating from the 13th century.
Mantua is home to two art high schools, one of which is located in Guidizzolo and named after the renowned painter A. Dal Prato. The local symphony orchestra is well-known and has nurtured numerous musicians and music enthusiasts.
Guidizzolo boasts several prominent companies, including Tomasi auto which is the largest used car market in northern Italy, Ferrari Costruzioni Meccaniche which is a renowned manufacturer of seeding machines and who exports products to the United States, Pomodoro Gandini which is a famous hydroponic tomato cultivation center, Idromeccanica Lucchini Spa which is a leading company specializing in greenhouses and irrigation technology, FM Elettronica which is a circuit board manufacturing factory, BBF Gambetti which is a socks and underwear production enterprise, and a medical company called Cardiva spa.
